The sun is out, the weather is warm, and we are all focused on a beautiful lawn and landscaping.  You made the smart choice to have KW Landscaping build out your newly designed outdoor environment in Springboro, OH, but what do you need to do next in order to keep everything looking like new the whole summer?

Aside from regular upkeep, such as watering flowers, sweeping away debris, and pruning away any dead flowers so new buds can grow, if you have had trees planted, there are specific steps you must take in order to keep your trees alive and healthy.

Once your new trees have been planted, they will require some attention and lots of water.  Your landscaper will water your tree at planting time, but it will be your responsibility to ensure the watering is continued after KW Landscaping has finished their job.  Here is the schedule you should follow to keep your trees alive and happy:

Watering Intervals:

1-2 weeks after planting, water daily.

3-12 weeks after planting, water every 2 to 3 days.

Watch your trees and check to see how they are doing.  Do they seem dry?  Give them more water.  Has it been raining quite a bit?  You may be able to skip a day.  What you don’t want to do is forget about your trees and let them get dry.  This inhibits the roots from rooting into their new home and will dry out and die.  This is not only sad for the poor tree, but is also a waste of time and money.

Taking a little extra time to water your trees on the schedule listed above (or more if you can see that your tree needs it) will keep your trees happy and your landscaping beautiful.  Don’t have the time to keep up with your new tree babies?  Talk to your friends at KW Landscaping in Springboro to see what our maintenance plans include.  There are also slow release tree watering bags that you can purchase for your trees to allow them to get the water they need with very little work on your end.
